During your consultation with Dr. Ghanem you will discuss your physical concerns and whether Morpheus8 is the right option of treatment for you.

Moreover, a full medical history will be taken during your consultation to uncover any allergies, medication administration or other issues which might be unsuitable for any of the treatments that we offer.

If you are pregnant or currently breastfeeding you will not be suitable for Morpheus8 treatment and will need to await the period of weaning your child, before we can embark on a treatment plan.

The area being treated will be cleansed and marked as a guide for treatment. Meanwhile, a strong topical local anaesthetic will be applied to the area in order to maximise your comfort. 

During treatment the small microneedles will enter the skin, delivering the radiofrequency energy at the required power and depth levels needed for the area being treated.

Face and neck treatments last between 30 and 45 minutes, with body treatments lasting approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Two to three treatment sessions are required, on average, for significant improvements in the skin and face, while the body requires three to four treatments on average. 

The level of pain or discomfort due to treatment is directly proportional to the depth of needle penetration and radio-frequency energy which produces a heating sensation.

Expect to feel a sense of pressure during the procedure, with only minimal discomfort and a sensation of mild heat. In addition,  A topical anaesthetic or numbing cream is applied before treatment commences for added comfort. 

Dr. Ghanem is an expert at managing pain and differing pain thresholds. We use additional skin cooling or anaesthetic techniques for individuals with pain sensitivities.

Morpheus8 is safe to use on all skin types, as it does not come with the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), as is often the case with forms of fractional and non-fractional laser skin resurfacing when performed on darker skin types.

Expect your skin to feel tight immediately after treatment, with redness, swelling, possible minor bruising and tenderness lasting for a short while and up to two or three days. 

You will notice small, dot-like marks on the skin where the micro-needles have penetrated the surface. These will shrink and heal after one to three days. 

You are advised not to scratch or scrub the area as this can induce infection, scarring or pigmentation changes. Aftercare advice will be provided. 

Any discomfort in the days after your treatment can be managed with cooling or over-the-counter pain medication.

Downtime varies and depends on the depth of treatment performed. For more superficial skin treatments, you can expect little to no downtime around 24-48 hours, five days for deeper facial treatments and up to one week for body treatments.

Although you can expect some immediate tightening as a result of the tissue coagulation caused by the delivery of radiofrequency energy, this is by no means the full extent of your result. 

Most importantly, results are not immediate as this treatment is aimed at diminishing fat cells and stimulating the repair of skin cells and the production of new collagen and elastin over time. Accordingly, improvements in skin texture, skin tightness and fat remodelling will continue in the weeks and months after treatment.

In addition, you can expect to see further changes and improvements after four to six weeks, with continued improvements after each treatment session.

Results are long-lasting, subsequently requiring maintenance only three to five years after completing a full treatment course.
